L’ŒIL DE TOKYO began with the idea of creating a product that would bring together our passions for two countries, each admiring the other’s artisanal craftsmanship and united in the pursuit of beauty: France and Japan.

The eyeglass frame, worn both as a fashion accessory and for its technical precision as an optical device, proved to be the ideal object to pay tribute to the Franco-Japanese collaboration — one of design and quality.

In Sabaé, an industrial village in Fukui Prefecture located three hours west of Tokyo on the coast of the Sea of Japan, eyewear artisans have been crafting frames with exceptional precision since the beginning of the 20th century, earning worldwide recognition.

It is here that we now assemble all our new collections and also manufacture the key components, such as the hinges and other titanium elements that compose them.

After five years of exclusively online development, we opened our first doors in the Jiyugaoka district of Tokyo, where it all began.
